UPS Airlines is one of the largest cargo carriers globally, operating a fleet of over 500 aircraft, which includes a mix of Boeing 747s, 757s, 767s, Airbus A300s, and McDonnell Douglas MD-11s​. With more than 1,900 daily flight segments, UPS serves a vast network that spans across 220 countries and territories, relying on its extensive hub-and-spoke model to optimize routes​. Its main hub is located in Louisville, Kentucky, where the Worldport sorting facility, spanning 5.2 million square feet, handles an impressive 416,000 packages per hour. The company operates in multiple regions, including North America, Europe, and Asia, and its pilots are based at hubs in various cities such as Louisville, Philadelphia, and Miami. UPS continues to expand its fleet and infrastructure to meet growing demand, especially in the e-commerce sector.

  • UPS has committed to purchasing eight new Boeing 767-300ER freighters, bringing its total number of 767 freighters in operation to 108 across its global network. 

  • This follows UPS's earlier order for 19 additional 767 freighters in December 2021, with deliveries scheduled between 2023 and 2025.

  • In conjunction with these expansions, UPS and the Independent Pilots Association (IPA) have agreed to a two-year pilot contract extension, which includes pay rates that will see the top Captain pay reach $401 per hour and First Officer pay at $284 per hour by September 2025. 

Qualifications:

  • 1500 Fixed Wing Total Time

  • Minimum of 1000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) hours in fixed-wing jet and/or fixed-wing multi-engine turboprop

  • UPS will allow military candidates to add a plus (.3) per sortie factor to flight time.

  • Hold a current unrestricted ATP certificate with an Airplane category multi-engine class rating and English proficiency endorsement.

  • Hold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

  • Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Must have a valid Passport and documentation allowing for entry into the United States after an International flight.
