Alaska Airlines
Alaska Airlines, established in 1932 by Linious “Mac” McGee as a small air service in Alaska, has evolved into one of the major U.S. carriers with a prominent West Coast presence. Merging with Virgin America in 2018, Alaska has expanded its fleet and network significantly, transitioning to an all-Boeing fleet by 2023 as part of its modernization efforts. Today, Alaska operates a fleet of about 320 aircraft, primarily Boeing 737s, and serves over 115 destinations with around 1,200 daily flights. Its primary hubs include Seattle, Anchorage, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Alaska Airlines employs approximately 3,000 pilots and is a member of the oneworld alliance, enhancing its global reach and connectivity. The airline is known for pioneering innovations, such as being the first U.S. airline to offer electronic ticketing and GPS navigation. With a longstanding reputation for customer service, Alaska has consistently earned high ratings and awards for passenger satisfaction, establishing itself as a top-performing airline on the West Coast and beyond.
