Alaska Seaplanes

Alaska Seaplanes, founded in 1982, operates as a key provider of air travel to small communities in Southeast Alaska, particularly along the Inside Passage. The airline's fleet includes both floatplanes and wheeled planes, which are essential for connecting remote towns that lack road infrastructure. Alaska Seaplanes serves 14 communities with a hub based in Juneau, providing daily flights to destinations such as Ketchikan, Petersburg, and Haines, among others. Its fleet is made up of smaller aircraft ideal for short regional routes, and the airline plays a crucial role in transporting both people and cargo to these isolated regions. The airline also serves tourists, offering scenic flights and access to destinations for outdoor activities like fishing and whale watching. It has grown as a vital component of the local transportation network, especially with its fast and frequent services compared to slower alternatives like ferries.
